Gary L. Sylvia Jr., 34, of Hyannis, formerly of Edgartown, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. Gary was the loving husband of Angela R. (Gross) Sylvia for 13 years, and the father of three children.
Gary was born on July 12, 1980, to parents Gary L. Sylvia and Theresa Nunes. Gary worked as a cook on the Island as well as a taxi driver.
Gary met his wife Angela during their years at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. They were married on July 11, 2001, and spent a total of 20 years together.
Gary loved spending his precious time with his wife and three children Noah, 9, Hailee, 7, and 1-year-old Gunner. Gary loved the water and enjoyed time at the beach, playing sports with his kids. He also enjoyed bowling with his dad and fishing. Gary was a kindhearted man with many friends and family, who will miss him dearly.
Gary leaves behind his wife Angela, his beloved children, his father Gary L. Sylvia Sr., his mother Theresa Nunes, grandmother Gloria J. Sylvia and parents-in-laws Ralph and Lucille Gross.
He was predeceased by his grandfather Adelbert L. “Bud” Sylvia, Manuel and Maria Nunes, his uncle Dennis W. Sylvia, and cousins Naylee (Sylvia) Webster and Bethany (Sylvia) Haveard.
All are invited to attend a graveside service with the family at Oak Grove Cemetery in Vineyard Haven at 11 am, Saturday, July 25.
