Priscilla P. (Dutton) Parris of Oak Bluffs, formerly of Natick, died peacefully at home on Sept. 3, 2015, after a long, courageous battle with diabetes. Born Oct. 9, 1926, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Lawrence Fletcher Dutton Sr. and Clara (Prince) Dutton.
A 1944 graduate of Lexington High School, Mrs. Parris went on to establish a successful typesetting business. She also served as a staff member of the Sudbury Valley School, Framingham, in 1968.
She is survived by her son, Donn Parris and wife Karin of Natick; daughters Susan (Parris) Green and husband Thomas of Berlin, and Nancy (Parris) Yancey and husband Ronald of Wareham; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard S. Parris; daughter Sandra (Parris) Cutler of Florida; son Dr. Richard L. Parris of New Hampshire; siblings Mary Lou (Dickerman) Joca of California, Dorothy Dickerman of Maine, and Lawrence F. Dutton Jr. of Boston.
Arrangements will be made under the direction of Hamel Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home. Services will be private, and a family burial will take place at the Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
