I enjoyed a dinner in Santa Fe with fellow Cleaveland House poet and writer Brooks Robards and her husband, author Jim Kaplan, before heading home from a week in the Four Corners with my husband. It was great to see Brooks’ book, done with painter Hermine Hull, “On Island: Poems and Paintings of Martha’s Vineyard,” staring out at me from an eye-level shelf at Garcia Street Books.

Sounds like another amazing winter film festival, with thanks to an empowering line-up from the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival crew, volunteers, vendors and everyone who attended.

Oh yes — snow one last time to begin spring officially. And get your chocolates before Easter Sunday, when Chilmark Chocolates closes until April 21.

On Thursday, March 24 at Pathways, Richard Skidmore hosts “Digital Visions/Creating Realities” showcasing videographers’ digital media works, followed by a discussion.

The Music Series features an evening of three-piano jams with David Stanwood, featuring Frank and Cleopatra Wilkins, Wes Nagy, Peter Maclean, Dan Waters, Peter Halperin, Mait Edey and Taurus Biskis on Friday, March 25. Doors open at 6:30 pm, programs from 7 to 9 pm, free.

Chilmark Community Church is holding their Good Friday service at 5 pm and an Easter Service on Sunday at 9 am followed by a coffee hour and Easter egg hunt. Pizza nights continue on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 pm. All are welcome.

Solon Oliver, an 8th grader at the West Tisbury school, is this year’s Chilmark Service Ambassador for Project 351, a youth service organization. Solon is leading a clothing drive to benefit Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit organization that provides low-income and homeless children with everyday essentials. Please bring your gently used and like-new clothing and shoes for children to the clearly marked collection bins in the front lobby of the West Tisbury school from March 28 to April 4. Clothing sizes should range from infant to adult medium (styles appropriate for middle schoolers) and shoes sizes infant to adult size 10.
