The MV Wine Fest celebrated its fourth annual festival across the Island this past weekend, bringing together guests and vendors from Martha’s Vineyard and beyond.
A number of local restaurants, including the Newes, Wave Bar, the Terrace, 20bynine, Down Island, Pizza di Napoli, the Atlantic, Menemsha Fish House, and Détente, hosted events and cooked up a stunning variety of pairings for wine. Local brewers Offshore Ale Co. won top prize at Saturday’s beer competition, but Martha’s Vineyard Cider Co. and Wash Ashore Beer were fan favorites at several events. Morning Glory Farm gave local chefs a private farm tour and discounts for their dinners.
The main event was the Grand Tasting at the Kelley House on Saturday, but there were plenty of parties to sample, including “Real Men Drink Pink” at Chesca’s, “Oysters and Bubbles,” featuring Sabra hummus, and “Burgers and Bubbles” at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum, sponsored by Saber Grills.
There were also several dinners at magnificent private homes, many of which were organized by the Realtors and clients at Point B Realty. American Kitchen Cookware provided chefs with a variety of pots and pans to work with.
Many off-Island guests were treated to a VIP Island experience, including transportation from Stagecoach Taxi, an Island tour for press members led by Nancy Gardella of the Chamber of Commerce, and accommodations at the Kelley House, the Sydney, the Vineyard Square Hotel, and the Hob Knob Inn.
Other local businesses who got in on the action included Althea Designs, Lure Fish, LegendaryMV, Sea Spa Salon, Norton Point Sunglasses, Murdick’s Fudge, By the Sea Salt, Martha’s Vineyard Sea Salt, Verdi Productions, and Henna by @maplemendhi.
