Last week Hal Garneau of the Vineyard Haven library shared a hundred vintage photos of Cottage City/Oak Bluffs to a delighted audience. The pictures were a selection from his extensive collection of antique stereoviews of Martha’s Vineyard. I hope he will share more of these in the future. His comments, noting the sites of current landmarks, kept us aware of where we were when nothing seemed familiar.

This celebration of the Fourth was followed by a communal potluck lunch on Inkwell Beach.
