Molly DeBettencourt scores 45 in Vineyard win over Somerset Berkley

Molly DeBettencourt rang up 45 points, leading Martha’s Vineyard to a 69-52 Eastern Athletic Conference (EAC) win over host Somerset Berkley on Friday afternoon. The Vineyard junior also pounded the glass and excelled on defense, adding nine rebounds, five steals and five blocks.

Senior guard Whitney Schroeder scored 11 points, along with seven rebounds and six assists. Kiana Casey and Lily Pigott chipped in with six points each.

With the win over the Blue Raiders, MV improved to 6-5.

The Vineyard girls host EAC rival Coyle and Cassidy on Friday Jan. 27 at the Sandy Pachico Gymnasium in Oak Bluffs. The JV game starts at 3 pm and the varsity game tips off at 4:30 pm.
