This Saturday is, of course, April Fool’s Day, so watch out! That good (or bad) news you got could be a hoax. If you make it through the day without getting completely frustrated by tricks and jokes, come to “The Fool’s Bash” to benefit the Chilmark School. This is the school’s annual fundraiser for the outing program. It will be held at the Chilmark Community Center from 7 to 11 pm. There will be music and dancing with Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, comedian Rafi Gonzalez, plus a photo booth, beverages, and desserts. As always, there will be a live auction and a silent auction, with great items to be had. Tickets are $20 in advance and at the door.
Vineyard Smiles is coming to Aquinnah on Friday, April 7. In collaboration with the Aquinnah Board of Health, free dental cleanings are available to adults who do not have a regular dentist. Registration forms are at the Town Hall, or contact Vineyard Smiles at 508-696-0020, ext. 107, or info@mvhealthcareaccess.org.

The workshop will be led by David Stanwood and Valerie Sonnenthal. Spring is here? I’m not so sure, but I do know that the event of the spring is coming up. The Duck Inn egg hunt will be on April 16 at 1 pm. This year the egg hunt is being supported by the Martha’s Vineyard Cultural Council. The theme is the wonder of trees, and all are invited to come to the Duck Inn and paint eggs on April 8 and 9, from 1 pm to 5 pm. The hunt will take place the following week at 1 pm; meet in the Barn and bring your tree stories. Elise LeBovit, who hosts this wonderful event, welcomes help, so give a call at 508-645-9018.
I will be performing in the final Shakespeare for the Masses of the season. We will perform “Romeo and Juliet” at the Vineyard Playhouse this Saturday, April 1, at 7 pm, and Sunday, April 2, at 1 pm.

Happy birthday to Heidi Vanderhoop, who celebrates today. Happy birthday to Amira Madison, who celebrates on April 4. Amira has departed Aquinnah for the sunny shores of California, but she’s still an Aquinnah lady through and through.
