By Steve Ewing
My knees are wet
from kneeling
this morning in the misty rain
Mayflowers in high bloom
bring me back to picnics
with my family
as a boy
in Christiantown
Snipping honeyed bunches
tender sweet purple pink to white
Grandparents in fresh
Spring form
I close my eyes
breathe in deep
and feel them
next to me
