Three finalists named for Edgartown police chief

Three off-Island police officials have been named finalists for the Edgartown chief’s job. Robert DeFlammis Jr., assistant chief of police at the Massachusetts Port Authority, Bruce R. McNamee, a police captain in Plymouth, and Brian Lauzon, a lieutenant with the Natick Police Department, have been named finalists.

Next Monday, March 19, the final three candidates will meet with members of the department from 10 am to noon. At 1 pm, candidates will interview with selectmen in open session at the town hall meeting room. At 4 pm, selectmen will convene their regular meeting.

There has been speculation that McNamee, who owns property on the Island, would be a candidate for the position.
