Poem: Hummingbird

By Barry Nevin

Clown of the garden mid-light

Minute thunderbolt in flight

A leaping, laughing rainbow light

Up, up on unseen wings

Angel blossom of the sky

Umbrella tree’s shimmering mime

Now dancing through red trumpet vine

Edgartown resident Barry Nevin, a member of one of the oldest Island families, has always considered poetry a secret love.
