Beach Road in Vineyard Haven closed Wednesday morning due to a downed utility pole. The pole was located across the street from Mone Insurance. The road closed at Five Corners and ahead of the Lagoon Pond Bridge. It took electrical workers about 40 minutes to secure the wires taken down with the pole. The damage occurred when a truck caught a wire and yanked the pole over, according to an Eversource official at the scene.
