A group of people took to Five Corners Thursday to demand the release of the special counsel Robert Mueller’s 400-page report on Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

The group held signs in protest of the short summary given by Attorney General William Barr.

“We need to know what is said. You can’t trust a little summary,” Kathy Laskowski, one of the protestors, said. “We paid for it, we need to know what it said.”

The group, many of whom are part of the activist group Indivisible Martha’s Vineyard, got plenty of waves from passersby and some honks from passing vehicles. Carla Cooper in particular garnered some stares. Cooper had donned a large mask of President Donald Trump’s face.

“We’ve been waiting for two years to get the truth,” Cooper said from behind her bright orange countenance. “We need to see it.”

The group’s protest signs had clever inscriptions such as “Don’t Barr the Mueller Report,” “300+ pages, not 4,” and “We demand transparency.”

Cathy Walthers, a former newspaper reporter, said the country is ready to handle the report’s release. “It’s essential that Americans find out what’s in the report,” Walthers said. “We can handle the truth, people can handle the truth.”

  1. A sparsely attended rally for something that is already scheduled to happen, after the redaction process, isn’t really news. A cure for TDS might be though.

    1. Sparsely attended by tens of thousands of people in over 300 cities and towns across the country. Acting locally as part of a larger protest. Pay attention.

      1. Pay attention to 7 islanders with goofy signs shouting about something that is already slated to happen ? Nope.
        Go protest the mismanagement of the VH school maintenance program or something that will actually maybe make a difference…

    1. whale oil– release of the report is “already scheduled to happen”— right– just after trump releases his tax returns.. ( he did promise to do that you know). I do believe in “trump derangement syndrome”, but if it causes derangement in anyone it is in trump supporters. Do you really believe Barr will release the report without pressure ? We saw the full Starr report on Bill Clinton ( no crime over whitewater) and remember , the whitewater ‘scandal” was the “orange” of the investigation which lasted for 7 years and culminated with the impeachment of pres. Clinton. We also have seen the results of all 7 investigations about Benghazi. — Hillary really was completely vindicated. Seems the right has a bad case of HDS

    1. The word you are looking for is “Biased”. Education needs to be our first priority. Calling the Times “liberal” is hilarious.

  4. Amen, Carl. The liberals are doing so well under the Trump administration that they can take a Thursday off to go protest He Who Has Not Colluded. It could be indicative of my career choice, but I still had to get up and go to work that day. I hope they are almost done with that vaccine for TDS.
