Holidays have begun, trees decorated, lights hung, Hanukkah candles lit and accepting distance as part of celebration this unusual season. I am grateful to connect even through the e-world, Zoom meals, and 6-foot apart outdoor meetings.
It’s always a relief when shotgun season ends, though primitive firearms season continues through Dec. 31, so don’t put your orange wear away yet.
Despite Saturday’s rain, the line from Menemsha Deli for chocolate shoppers stretched to Creekville Antiques, while the parking lot at Home Port was partially filled, besides cars lining either side of Basin Road. Salt Rock MV Chocolates is selling out, the last day to shop at their Menemsha pop-up is Dec. 19 from 12 to 4 pm, check saltrockchocolate.com/find-us. North Tabor Farm sold Cinnamon Starship Breads on Saturday, if we’re lucky they’ll be back again this Saturday. Rebecca told me they’re “processing 100 organically raised pastured poultry on Saturday to be at the stand after 3 pm.”
