Thomas Page Barrett passed away peacefully at Windemere, where he was beautifully cared for, on Dec. 8, 2023, after a long fight with Alzheimer’s disease. An obituary will follow in a future edition of this paper.

Tom was a lovely, funny man. He was always a pleasure to talk with at the Vineyard Artisan’s Fesitvals. His skills and creative work with leather are surely still being enjoyed around many homes on Island and in many other places too. Peace to you Tom.
I only knew Tom in passing, but he made the best pair of slippers I’ve ever owned, and when the stitching on one of them came loose, he tightened it up. Sometimes you don’t have to know someone well to miss them when they’re gone.
