I want to give a shout-out to Dippin Donuts. We had them at the Easter sunrise and Blessing of the Fleet Memorial weekend services in Menemsha. Not only are they delicious, the jelly-spilling, belly-bomb doughnuts reminded many of much-missed Humphrey’s, but Karla Freeman went above and beyond in rectifying a young human’s mistake, offering to deliver — but since we have spotty service and I’d not gotten the message until evening, no one was going to be home, directions are difficult, critters would be delighted to get into treats left outside, and the service was at 5:45 the next morning, I asked to have them donated. Things happen. But Karla said she’d honor the credit. More than a month later, when I placed the order for the Blessing service, she not only remembered but doubled the credit. Thank you.
Thank you, Jason Yogi Jay for creating “Confidently Sensitive” and offering a second annual “Yoga for Mental Differences” event at the Yoga Barn last weekend. These events are profoundly tender and powerful. Thank you to the Yoga Barn, Wholesome MV, and Lululemon. I highly recommend subscribing to Jason’s Wholesome M. online wellness practices, which make you feel whole.
After Yogi Jay’s, we joined friends, family, and community who filled the Ag Hall, remembering and honoring Ron Rappaport, a remarkable, brilliant, and caring man keenly aware of other human beings’ uniqueness, and fragility. I hope his daughter, Julia, and wife, Jane Kaplan, were lifted.

The town of Chilmark is soliciting our opinions on the four options for repairing and/or replacing the commercial fishing dock in Menemsha, and asking us to complete a short online survey at surveymonkey.com/r/GNW6DC6.
(This is not an anonymous survey. I appreciate that in Chilmark we identify ourselves when giving our perspectives, even standing up for our votes to be counted during town meetings.) The survey presents these options: basic repair; repair, protect, raise; full upgrade; full upgrade and float. For questions, we are invited to contact Harbormaster Ryan Rossi, or Peter Neilley, Menemsha Commercial Dock Working Group.
