Garden Gate Child Development Center presents, “Happy Birthday to You,” a new exhibition of artwork created by toddlers and preschool children. The exhibit is being shown in the Schule Chapel Gallery at Featherstone Center for the Arts throughout the month of October.
In this interactive, family-friendly exhibit, young children’s creative voices take center stage, exploring the universal human experiences of celebration, memory making, and togetherness. Through paintings, drawings, sculptures, and collaborative installations, the children invite visitors to consider how traditions, both personal and cultural, connect us across generations.
“Celebrating a birthday is both unique and universal,” said curriculum coordinator Leigh Ann Yuen. “Our toddlers and preschoolers remind us that art is not only about expression, but also about community. Their work highlights the ways children notice and interpret rituals of joy, care, and belonging.”
Visitors will be invited to engage with interactive elements, adding their own reflections on traditions and celebrations, making this an ongoing, living installation.
“Happy Birthday toYou,” Oct. 2 through 16. Free and open to the public. Schule Chapel Gallery at Featherstone Center for the Arts, Oak Bluffs.
