Healthy Aging Martha’s Vineyard is excited to announce the reintroduction of Call-a-Tech-Pro, our technology support program for older adults, made possible through generous funding from the Comcast Foundation. As so much of daily life now depends on technology, from communicating with loved ones to accessing healthcare and essential services, we know that many older adults face real barriers in navigating this digital world. Call-a-Tech-Pro is one way we are working to help bridge that digital divide here on the Vineyard.
Through this program, older adults can receive no-cost, drop-in assistance with smartphones, computers, tablets, email, video calls, apps, and other technology questions. Tech support sessions are offered Island-wide at local Councils on Aging. Older adults can receive assistance from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesdays at the Tisbury Senior Center, from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursdays at the Up-Island Council on Aging, and from 11 am to 1 pm on Fridays at the Oak Bluffs Council on Aging. In addition, the Edgartown Council on Aging offers technology support on the second Friday of every month, from noon to 1 pm. In addition to in-person sessions, we are pleased to once again offer Call-a-Tech-Pro home visits. These visits are intended for older adults with mobility challenges who are unable to attend group sessions, or for technology needs that cannot be easily transported, such as home Wi-Fi networks, smart TVs, or other in-home technology.
These services are available now, free of charge, and we are grateful to the Comcast Foundation for supporting this important work. For more information or to learn how to access Call-a-Tech-Pro, please contact Healthy Aging Martha’s Vineyard at 508-618-5134, or visit our website at hamv.org. We look forward to seeing you soon.
