Collective effervescence is something this Island is good at. Photographers captured the joyful participants in graduation ceremonies, and the Pride Parade in Oak Bluffs. The Farmers Market.
The Island tradition of friends, family, and fire engines meeting the ferry carrying the courageous home was on display Saturday night. Everyone standing patiently, while it docked and unloaded, before starting the sirens, whistles, and cheers for the champions as the Martha’s Vineyard High girls’ tennis team marched off the freight deck Saturday night.
Congratulations to Head Coach Bill Rigali and Coach Eddie Stahl. Captains Liana Dubin, Leah Thomson, and Zoe Treitman. And the team: Charlotte Marshard, Tessa Schulz, Bella Schilling, Frencesca Carlos, Stella Cowan, Charlotte Cramer, Abigail Geary, Josephine Johns, Leela Khelalfa, Maple Martone, Gabriella Schilling, Tessa Schultz, Autumn Wiggin, Talia Young, and Emma Treitman.

Thursday, June 18, at 10 am is graduation day for Chilmark School.
Thanks again to all of the children and their families who came to the Chilmark Church Children’s Fair. The pony was under the weather. Thank you, Julie Flanders, for wrangling substitutes. Thank you, Laurie David and Bart Thorpe, for bringing Penny, Violet, and Enzo, three rescued and loved sweet and gentle mini-donkeys. Special thanks to Sarah Laux for painting characters like Stitch. It will help to have better tools to make neat, edged lines. Any tips are most welcome. Ann Noyes’ cupcakes, frosting, and toppings were a hit. All of the leftovers were turned into mountains and consumed with glee by the Sunday school.
We will continue to make mountains, and sprinkle only with things like slime and shaving cream, petals and confetti, buttons and beads.
Thank you again to Judy Mayhew and Sarah Shipway. Emily Broderick, Janet Weiner, Kathie Carroll. Mariah and Jessica Campbell, Janet Stoddard, and Pam Goff.
The treats created by Irene Wong offered for sale at North Tabor Farm’s stand are fabulous, and her biscuits continue to sell out within the first hour at the West Tisbury Farmers Market.
Trish Ginter is offering a sound bath at the Chilmark library on Saturday, June 20, 3:30 to 4:30 pm.
Wednesday, June 24, at 11 am at Stillpoint, I will begin hosting workshops based on my Sunday school classes. Come for tea and play with stones, pens, wire, beads, and clips. Joyful creation with laughter. Fostering discovery and connection with the glorious humans we all are.
