Man officially becomes a polar bear after plunging into the cold Atlantic Ocean. — Emily Drazen

“Available Light” is a collection of photos taken on Martha’s Vineyard and beyond for the past 20 years. People may remember Drazen’s work from the Old Sculpin Gallery or e’Kaya Gallery, or her assignments published in The MV Times. After a 10-year gallery hiatus, raising her two kids and freelancing on the Island, her work returns with more refinement and vibrancy, showcasing the abundance of the Island’s moods and movement.

Opening reception: Thursday, August 6, from 6 to 8 pm. The show runs through August 21. Miner Family Gallery, 13 Beach St. Ext., Vineyard Haven.
