At Alison Convery’s beautiful and moving memorial service, Katherine Poole’s words recalling her mother, Virginia Poole, and Alison Convery laughing and singing together, brought home the powerful experience of connection we can offer one another as family and chosen family. Alison Convery was a talented businesswoman and artist. She kept in touch, and as Katherine said, Alison made simple seem like a celebration.

Littles is a master, and this interactive exhibit gives you a chance to not just admire and honor her and the profession of journalism, but to experience how stories are crafted.
In the same floor of the museum is the exhibit “The Two Worlds of Denys Wortman”; alongside his exceptional cartoons capturing the depth of life hangs his last painting, a stylized version of Menemsha that beautifully encapsulates the breadth of the people and the place.
As Nancy Aronie says, there is already enough judgment, and we need to hear each other’s stories. Her “Jump-Start Your Memoir” workshop, a place where hearts open and words begin to flow. is headed to the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, N.Y., Oct. 18–22.
