Painter Paul Norwood and writer and editor Liz Norwood have released “Away to See: Martha’s Vineyard,” the first in a series of artful gift books. Featuring 46 original works, the book celebrates the Island’s natural beauty, coastal landscapes, community spirit, and quieter pleasures. Designed as a meditative escape for art lovers, travelers, and Island residents, the book invites readers to rediscover Martha’s Vineyard through art and reflection. A second book highlighting the California Coast is in the works.

While the Island is well-known for its celebrities and storied history, “Away to See: Martha’s Vineyard” focuses instead on its natural beauty, simple pleasures, and deep connection to land and sea. The Norwoods, longtime summer residents, share their favorite Island experiences and illuminate its slower side.

Paul is a painter known for his expressive coastal scenes and gestural style. After a successful career as a creative director, he has devoted the past 25 years to painting full-time, exhibiting nationally from Boston to San Francisco. His work is represented by galleries including the Eisenhauer Gallery. Liz Norwood is a freelance editor and writer specializing in sustainability, wellness, travel, and culture.

“For us, painting and putting words to our travels ushers us into another state of mind,” said Liz Norwood. “‘Away to See’ is our exploration of that ‘away’ state, where creativity, curiosity, and presence come together.”
