Healthy Aging Martha’s Vineyard (HAMV) is inviting the community to nominate individuals for its annual Healthy Agers Champion Award, which recognizes those making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults across Martha’s Vineyard.
The award honors individuals who help older adults thrive through leadership, advocacy, service, collaboration, or innovation. Nominees may include volunteers, caregivers, neighbors, community leaders, professionals, or anyone whose efforts help older adults maintain their independence, dignity, and connection to the community.
“Older adults are an essential part of what makes Martha’s Vineyard such a special place to live,” said Leslie Clapp, former director of Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living. “This award is an opportunity to recognize the people who go above and beyond to support our older neighbors and help make our Island a stronger, healthier and more connected community.”
Nominations are open through November, and the 2026 Healthy Agers Champion will be honored in December.
Community members can submit a nomination by emailing laurenbagnall@hamv.org or completing the online nomination form at hamv.org. To find the form, visit the “What We Do” section, and select the “Healthy Agers Champion Award” page.
HAMV encourages anyone who knows an individual making a positive impact on the lives of older adults to participate and help celebrate the people who make a difference in our community.
