Oak Bluffs police arrested four people on Saturday night following a traffic stop after they discovered nearly one pound of marijuana and $5,669 in cash.
Police said they stopped a car driven by Ryan Dunbar, 20, of Tisbury, after seeing him speeding on County Road. Police arrested Mr. Dunbar on charges of driving under the influence of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Police also arrested Sean Geddis, 20, of Edgartown on charges of underage drinking and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Aaron Bezahler of Tisbury and Brian Luce, 20, of Oak Bluffs were arrested on charges of underage drinking and possession of marijuana.
According to the report, police seized $2,106 in cash from Mr. Geddis and $3,563 in cash from Mr. Dunbar, as well as a safe, scales, and drug paraphernalia.
Police intend to file a motion in court to seize the money, under a state law that allows them to use money from drug profits for drug prevention and investigations.
Correction: An early version of this story incorrectly reported that Sean Geddis was convicted of the 2008 robbery of an elderly ticket taker on his way to deposit receipts from the Capawock Theater. Brett Geddis was the responsible for that crime.
