The MV Regional High School girls varsity team defeated Wayland at the Sancy Pachico Gym, last Wednesday, 44-37. It was their third win at home in as many starts and their fifth win overall, against two losses.
Freshman Jennie Lindland scored a game-high 13 points, 11 in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Jillian Sedlier added seven, including a 3-pointer. Seniors Katie Hines and Alicia Oliveira each had six.
Katie also led the Vineyard’s board-crashers, grabbing 11 off the glass.
Also scoring: Hanna Persson 4, Maddy Penicaud 4, Alex Mark 2, Crystal Miske 2.
Coach Stewart’s girls next test will be at Attleboro versus Bishop Feehan, Saturday at 4 pm. The following week they take on Somerset here, Tuesday, and Wareham on Friday.
