Ezra Newick at Chilmark Bank
Ezra Newick launched a new show of both color and black and white photographs at the Chilmark Bank with a small reception last Friday evening showing a range of moody, softly lit landscapes of Vineyard scenes and colorful details of flowers. The show will be up through May 21. Mr. Newick (formerly Ezra Blair) was a reporter for The Martha’s Vineyard Times. His latest contribution to the paper was a dynamic shot of a surfer at Stonewall Beach in the March 18 edition of the paper.
Celebrating Peggy
On Saturday, May 15, from 1 to 4 pm, in Featherstone Center for the Arts Pebble Gallery’s Peggy Thayer’s colorful, expressionist paintings, cards, and books will be on display. Ms. Thayer died in January of this year at 56 years old.
“Vineyard Views” at Chilmark Library
Painter Bill Buckley, in “Vineyard Views,” his first one-man show, are on exhibit at Chilmark Public Library through May 22. His brilliantly colored images depict familiar Island scenes.
Applause, Applause
West Tisbury photographer Michael Stimola, who shows at the Field Gallery in West Tisbury, was named a winner in the 2009 portfolio contest sponsored by Color, a national magazine of fine art photography. His biography and images appear in the July 2010 issue.
