Oak Bluffs

The entranceway to the town is now almost complete. Sidewalks, curbs, and new traffic lanes are now done and trees have been planted to add some greenery. I understand that planters will soon be placed around the brickwork to make the approach even more inviting.

With all of this work being done around town I was hoping that the powers that be would finally correct the dedication plaque in the Dennis Alley Community Park that reads “Oak Buffs” instead of Oak Bluffs. I have made a few requests to have it replaced but no one seems to be correcting it. It is almost three years ago that it was installed. Seems to me that a solution should have been found by now. The lack of action leaves a feeling that it just isn’t that important. What’s the story?

I am sorry to have to tell you that Matt Bose is leaving the library. There will be a reception for him on Friday, May 21 from 2 to 4 in the Library Meeting Room. Matt kept me and so many Times readers informed of events at the library over the past few years, so please stop by to thank Matt for all he’s done and to wish him well.
