The lights, lyrics, and love for music old and new create superior dance-ability to the sounds of old school hip-hop, jazz, and electronic funk, re-mastered and broken apart to include disco appeal.

You can hear DJ Ricky Prime on Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs at Season’s Pub, a fine place for drinks, sushi, fried treats, and plenty of dance space, on Monday, July 4.

Kellar Williams @ Nectar’s

Friday, July 1 will bring Kellar Williams to Nectar’s, at the airport.

Kellar Williams mixes genres such as folk, alternative, jazz, bluegrass, funk, and even reggae together with technical loops and a plethora of instruments, which began defining his “one-man band” jamming style. Check out his newly released cover album, “Thief.” Kellar redefines songs you may have been listening to for years as he takes his spin with The Grateful Dead, Amy Winehouse, The Butthole Surfers, and more. Doors open at 9 and the performance begins at 10 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 upon arrival. Catch Kellar here on the Vineyard before he moves onto Ohio for Grateful Fest.

Richie Spice sings with The New Kingston Band at Nectar’s this Sunday night, July 3 ($28 in advance and $35 at the door). Move to his rich Jamaican reggae vocals and soulful vibes. Richie Spice keeps the world going around by his simplistic yet lyrical messages that have renowned themselves album after album, song after song. Whether it be political, emotional, or national, he sings it strong.

Island Thunder @ the Aquinnah Cliffs

An unforgettable sunset experience for sure this Friday, July 1. This evening precursor of reggae rhythms and highly danceable beats spinning will begin at 6 and end around 10 pm. Live music and special guests are always in tow with Island Thunder, so make your way up-Island to discover a sweet surprise.

Find DCLA underground (beneath The Lampost) on Monday, July 4, delivering tokens of folk, rock, blues, and metal infused into their own sound. Each player brings his own influence and technique to the stage, which allows for a fun sequence of hopping, dancing, and rocking the night away. Special guests include Adam Lipski and Phil DaRosa.
