The 14th annual Women’s Skillet Throw, was a clean sweep for the Island’s Kara Shemeth. Kara hurled the frying pan 51’1.5″. The toss was good enough to win the 30-45 year-old class, or the Lot 2 Division.,
In the championship round, competing against winners in the other three Lots, Kara won again with a 50’1″ heave.
Her Lot 2 winning throw was the longest of the day.
Winners in the other Lots were: Lot One, 18-29 years, Ashley Medeiros at 47’6″, the second longest throw of the day.
Lot Three: 46-64 years, Carol Kennedy, 45’1″.
Lot Four: 65 years and more, Harriett Kantrowitz, 31’9″
Eighty-four women competed in the contest.
