The second annual Best Fest, a celebration of the end of summer, features local musicians and artisans in a day-long, multiple-location party in Oak Bluffs. The festivities kick off at 3 pm on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Washington Park (across from Our Market).

At least a dozen young artists and artisans will be selling their wares during the day, while a variety of local bands will play acoustic music. The party will then move to The Lampost, but on the way it will be feted by a parade up Circuit Avenue, starting at 8 pm at the Flying Horses and led by the Extraordinary Rendition Band, a 20-piece brass band from Providence, R.I.

The evening portion of the festival at The Lampost will feature music by local DJ’s and bands. The musical lineup currently includes approximately 15 artists and bands, including Kahoots, Nina Violet, DCLA, and Evan Dando.

The Best Fest is presented by Jellybone Rivers (AKA Rob Myers) and is a benefit for local radio station WVVY. This is the fourth event that Mr. Myers has organized in an effort to promote local artists and musicians.

Best Fest begins at 3 pm, Washington Park, Oak Bluffs. 8 pm: Parade starts at The Flying Horses. Continues at The Lampost until closing. Admission to day and evening events is free. 21+ to enter The Lampost. Artists and artisans are welcome to set up tables at Washington Park for free.
