To the Editor:
I would like to thank all of the staff at the MV Hospital for the attention, care and love showered on my beloved wife, mother of my children, and best friend of 25 years, Ellen Bang-Birge. Ellen was treated as if she were a loved member of each one’s family. The room and the views were inspirational.
I would especially like to thank Mary-Alice, Daisy, Wynona, Chris, and six big hugs to Doreen, who looked out for our family, even when she was not working.
Heartfelt gratitude and love go to Ellen’s primary care nurse, Carol Forgione, Hospice of MV volunteers, Dianne Smith, Trudy Carter, and Chaplain Vicky Hanjian — who were present or available any time of day or night.
Last, but not least, Thank You to the VNA of MV, especially Cheryl, Beth, Shanel, and Paulette, for the kind, gentle loving care you gave to my wife, at her hour of need.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Hospice of MV.
A memorial for Ellen will be planned later.
You all have made my wife’s, our mother’s, last days special. Thank you.
