On Tuesday, January 3, with a grateful tip of the cap to Coach Peter Gillis and to Bob Mone, 25 Island boys, all members of M.V. Youth Hockey Squirt teams, made the trip to Fenway Park to play the game cheered on by parents and friends in front of the Green Monster.

The experience of sharing the Red Sox dugout and playing their game in the historic baseball park (the oldest in the Major Leagues) was the real thrill, but the game itself was a memorable squeaker, 5-4. Scorers for Squirt One were Joe Serpa, Hoffie Hearn and, with a hat trick, Aiden Marek.

Squirt Two goals were by Hunter Ponte (2), Will Brugueire, and Hunter Meader.

Other skaters making the trip were Logan Araujo, Lauren Boyd, Aiden Araujo, Cabot Thurber, Zack Vukota, Jackson Pachico, Kenny Hatt, William Hermann, Liam Marek, Josh Dix, David Krauthamer, Jack Pizzano, Mike Metcalf, Ian Trance, Joe Kershaw, Hailey Meader, Gino Chick, and Felix Colon.
