Featherstone Center for the Arts is not slowing down. This winter they put up new gallery shows practically every week, and it appears their spring will be just as busy.
Coming on the heels of two student photography exhibits, the nonprofit community gallery and teaching group in Oak Bluffs will host an opening reception for a new event this coming Sunday, March 18, from 4 to 6 pm.
The new show, the Winter into Spring Painting Show, is a first-time event and an open call show curated by Featherstone.
To date, work by more than 14 artists will be shown, including Ruth Adams, Pat Albee, Marston Clough, Ruth DeWilde-Major, Nina Gomez Gordon, Valentine Estabrook, Mary French, Darcie Lee Hanaway, John Holladay, Fan Ogilvie, Debby Rosenthal, Donna Straw, Sunny Wilson, and Linda Ziegler.
Featherstone’s spring shows will continue April 1 through April 18 with The Art of Intaglio (copper and zinc etchings) featuring Washington Ledesma, Beldan Radcliffe, and Nick Thayer; April 22 through May 9 is The Art of Vineyard Architecture; and May 13 through May 25 is The Art of Flowers with guest curator Holly Alaimo.
