Visit the Whaling Church in Edgartown on Saturday, Jan. 17, from 3 pm to 5:30 pm to show support for Lorena Mendes, the 20-month-old daughter of Mirella and Diego Mendes of Edgartown, who was diagnosed with GM1 gangliosidosis, a disease that destroys nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Raffle tickets are $5 each or $20 for a book of tickets, and prizes include a gift certificate to Summer Shades and necklaces from Claudia and Vintage Jewelry.
