The 2015 RISE Dance Company presented their competitive choreography at the group’s fourth annual showcase this past Sunday at the Oak Bluffs School auditorium, in front of a packed house of performers’ family members, peers, and dance enthusiasts. Island dancers ages 5 through 16 performed 26 pieces of choreography, including many routines that they had performed at their first competition, the American Dance Awards, last month, when they returned home with a number of special awards and overall high scores for their work.

The company leaves for their next competition, Spirit of Dance, in mid-April. The group’s attention then turns to preparations for RISE’s year-end recital, where the company joins the entire RISE student body for this year’s performance, Masters and Masterpieces, which takes place June 20 and 21 at the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center.
