The Edgartown Patrolman’s Association plans to give away fresh turkeys to Edgartown individuals and families in need of a bird on Thanksgiving.

The Association plans to purchase 25 turkeys from Shiretown Meats and needs the community’s help to identify those who would appreciate a little help this holiday. Islanders are asked to contact the department before Tuesday by phone (508-627-4343, ext: 39), email or Facebook, or speak to any officer, if they, or someone they know, would appreciate seeing an Edgartown Police officer show up with a fresh turkey in hand  Given the limited number of birds, once all the names are collected, there will be a raffle drawing on Tuesday to determine who gets a turkey. The only condition is that the recipient be a resident of Edgartown.
