The calendar may say December, but the forsythia blooming in my yard seems to contradict it. But even without cold temperatures and snow, the many beautiful decorations about the town make us realize it is actually the holiday season for many. After last winter’s weather, I, probably along with many others, was determined to be prepared this winter. So I am prepared, but for the expected cold, blustery winds and snow, not for spring. If my preparations for winter resulted in it not arriving, I am grateful. There are so many people working behind the scenes, that we take for granted during these busy shopping weeks. So let’s give a shout-out to UPS, FedEx, the United States Postal Service, and all the delivery services. They all worked so very hard to help us complete our shopping plans, most always shorthanded. And also the clerks in all the stores who try their best to accommodate our wishes, even when we are a bit testy. So Happy Holiday wishes to you all, and thank you for your helping hands.

The following poem by Barbara Mcleod says it all for me, and I hope it does for you also.
“I will not wish thee riches nor the glow of greatness,
But wherever thou go
Some weary heart shall gladden at thy smile
Or shadowed life know sunshine for a while.
And so thy path shall be a track of light
Like angels’ footsteps passing through the night.”
