Ten Tisbury Tigers, accompanied by Tisbury School math teachers Ms. Forrester and Ms. Canham, participated in a MathCounts regional competition in New Bedford last month. The Tisbury team was four eighth graders: Peter Burke, Olivia Pouliot, Julia Dostal, and Kya Maloney. They were joined by six others: Alexa Pil, Eric Reubens, Molly Carroll, Molly Baldino, Vitor Lage, and Annabelle Cutrer. The team came in third out of 14 schools, and will go to the state competition in Boston. Three of the team placed in the top 25 percent: Peter was ninth overall, Julia was 20th, and Olivia was 28th. Everyone had fun. Our town should be proud of our mathletes. The state competition is Saturday. Good luck, Tigers!
