In a Friday ceremony attended by family, friends, and Martha’s Vineyard police officers, Dustin Shaw joined the Massachusetts State Police. “I am very proud of him,” said Oak Bluffs Police Lieutenant Tim Williamson, who was among the Vineyard police contingent present at the swearing-in ceremony for 158 troopers held at the DCU Center in Worcester.

Mr. Shaw was born and raised in Oak Bluffs, and graduated from Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School in 2003. A Coast Guard veteran, he previously worked for the Tisbury Police Department as a full-time officer from 2008 to 2012, when he left that department to join his hometown police force.
