Loss to Coyle & Cassidy, 5-2
Last Friday, the couldn’t handle Coyle & Cassidy pitching and were limited to just 2 hits in a 5-2 Eastern Athletic Conference loss.
Although they reached base 5 other times via two walks, two hit batters and one reaching base on an error, MV could only come up with 2 runs. That gave MV an early 2-1 lead but they couldn’t hold it as Coyle & Cassidy came right back with a run in the bottom of the second, an unearned run in the third and 2 insurance runs in the sixth.
MV received another solid pitching performance from Jacob Cardoza throwing his sixth consecutive complete game though this one was a tough luck loss giving up 6 hits, with 6K’s, 0 walks, and 5 runs (4 earned). C&C was lead by starting pitcher Matt Braga who pitched 5 innings and hit a first inning home run.
