The Tisbury Vision Council will hold a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Tisbury Senior Center from 7 to 8:30 pm. According to a press release, the meeting will be conducted as a workshop to identify priority projects that will qualify for Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) funding, as part of the launch of the Complete Streets Program in Tisbury. The Vision Council has invited Howard Stein Hudson, an engineering and planning firm based in Boston that specializes in traffic engineering, to work with community members to identify and implement improvements to its streets under the state-funded Complete Streets Program. Making roadways safer, more accessible, and healthier for all users — motor vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians — contributes to making any community more livable, which is the goal of the program. The Vision Council invites all residents and interested Islanders to participate.
Updated Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. The original meeting was scheduled for Feb. 9, however, has been postponed due to weather predictions.
