Despite a dreary forecast, this year’s Christmas in Edgartown was full steam ahead with holiday cheer. Friday saw the annual lighting of the Edgartown Lighthouse, with hot cocoa and cookies at the Harbor View Hotel to warm spirits, as well as the newly introduced Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at the Town Bar and Grill. The parade on Saturday barely dodged the rain, allowing spectators to stay dry as they watched Santa drive by in a vintage fire truck. After the parade, visitors could warm up and sample the Vineyard’s best chowders at the Red Stocking Fund’s chowder competition, or let the kids let loose at the Teddy Bear Suite.
