Jared Salvatore is the new music-programming director for Circuit Arts, and is helping to launch a dedicated music branch of the organization.
“One of my songwriting professors at Berklee used to say that the best songs tell us something familiar in an unfamiliar way. It was a way of pushing us beyond clichés, to trust that our personal perspective was more compelling than a retrodden phrase. That lesson has stayed with me.” Salvatore says. “Great art often feels like a conversation you’ve had before, but somehow heard through a new voice. It surprises you, makes you lean in, and helps you see something familiar from a different angle.”
Circuit Arts and Salvatore’s mission is to promote and sustain a vibrant, year-round music scene by supporting local performers, building community awareness, and creating opportunities for the community and visitors to connect through music. Through concerts, artist residencies, behind-the-music talks, educational programs, and community events, Circuit Arts will champion and celebrate local artists and bring exceptional national artists to the Island.
On June 12, Circuit Arts welcomes Emily King to the Strand Theatre, followed by Oklahoma singer-songwriter Ken Pomeroy at Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse on June 23.
