July is in full swing, and the town has been talking! The best part of this week has been all the conversations on supporting local business I’ve had with visitors, friends, and business owners — because at the end of the day, growing our local economy and supporting as many businesses as possible is the goal. Consider this your sign to make a list of your favorite locally owned Edgartown business — not just shops, but restaurants, taxi companies, hotels, art galleries, bakeries, bookstores, salons, wellness studios, Realtor offices — they all deserve a little extra local from the community, so write them a Google review so that their visibility online increases, and thus their visitations. And now, on to events this week in town:
Music in the Square: Mardi Gras theme with Seán McMahon is happening on July 23 from 6 to 8 pm. This week, they welcome New Orleans–based painter Gretchen Weller-Howard for an evening featuring Seán McMahon and the Agreeable Men. Should be a fun night!

Head to the Old Whaling Church with tickets to see Emi Ferguson, flute and voice, with pianist Jacob Rhodebeck on July 26, which seems to be an incredible performance. Tickets can be found on mvcms.org/events.html.
If you haven’t visited the Edgartown Village Market this summer, on Tuesdays from 10 am to 2 pm, you must. I was just there last week, and it was packed to the brim with some of my favorite local businesses, and some new and emerging ones! Shout-out to Yellow Legs, a new company on-Island handmaking leather flipflops, and his story is fantastic. I won’t tell you more, you should stop by the market and check out yellowlegs.com.
Speaking of new business in town, an exciting new service that has just launched! Edgartown Delivers is a new grocery shopping, concierge, and home delivery service started by Edgartown resident Becky Bonds. If you’re already looking at your August calendar, might I suggest getting tickets to the 2026 Grace Kelly Benefit Concert on August 7 at 7:30 pm? Dynamo saxophonist and vocalist Grace Kelly makes a rare Martha’s Vineyard appearance to benefit the Island’s nonprofit community. And thanks to the generosity of Kelly and the Margaret Stewart Lindsay Foundation, all proceeds from the concert will be donated to Martha’s Vineyard Arts and the Martha’s Vineyard Nonprofit Collaborative.
