‘Kindness still flourishes in Chilmark’

To the Editor:

What could have been a nasty accident was avoided last Saturday evening in Menemsha thanks to Carl the parking officer. When guiding me out from my parking space, he noticed my back wheel was about to fall off. The kindness that followed is memorable. Fortunately, I have a son who lives on-Island who called a tow truck, which arrived promptly. The kindness of the two Chilmark Police officers in making sure that two elderly ladies got home safely was admirable. Kindness still flourishes in Chilmark.
