This Saturday, October 30, is Devil’s Night. The common name given to the night before Halloween is also called Mischief Night or Hell Night, but one can celebrate it this year without causing too much trouble.

Nectar’s is hosting a stellar, multi-media cast event organized and curated by Bulldog (Spencer Binney) and DJ Cartel (Carter Hakala), part of Island Thunder. The evening will be benefiting the local community radio station, 93.7 FM WVVY, with tons of raffle prizes.

The extensive line-up of music, fun, and fright starts at 8 pm and includes performances by Island Thunder, Supernova Fieldtrip, and DCLA, all Island-based musical groups. In addition, hear from Rocknot, DJ Nebulla, Nervous Virgins, and a dance performance from The Skeleton Sisters.

DJ Nebulla comes to Martha’s Vineyard from New York City and circulates a high-energy feel with his dubstep — electronic dance music — beats. He has re-mixed music for Wu-Tang Clan among others, and is involved with the first dubstep label, Code of Arms Records.

Nervous Virgins includes artists from Providence who will knock your costumes off with their powerful, raw sound emenated from their sound sampling and intricately laid experimental jams backed with a dub and grunge stew.

The Skeleton Sisters, better known as Islanders Jesse James and Elizabeth Kent, will fuel the stage with brand new choreography.

Island business sponsors working to benefit WVVY are Aboveground Records, Sharky’s Cantina, Depot Market, Panache, Island Music, Island Entertainment, The Green Room, and Citrine.

Come to the show early and enjoy pizza from Flatbread and get ready for a full night of non-stop entertainment. Doors open at 8 pm. Tickets are $10 dollars at the door and $5 for raffle tickets. Costumes are encouraged. For more information, visit nectarsmv.com.
