An annual benefit for Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard, the Reflections of Peace Christmas Concert is Thursday, Dec. 16, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Oak Bluffs. In its 14th year, the concert traditionally is a celebration of the spirit of community, with performances of time-honored as well as new pieces by a number of musicians.

Musicians include Wesley Brown on organ; Sandra Bitterman, Peter Boak, and Rebecca BarcaTinus on harp, organ, and violin; Novum composed of Linda Berg, Joyce Maxner, Shelley Brown, Julie Moffett, Kenny Romero, Kevin Ryan, Glenn Carpenter, Paul Munafo, and Peter Boak performing secular and sacred Christmas songs; Jan Hyer and Eric Johnson on cello and acoustic guitar; and Lisa Weis on piano.

Hospice of M.V., founded in 1981, is a free, community-supported organization whose mission is to “meet the unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs of all who are facing advanced illness and loss and give them hope, comfort and compassion,” according to its website, hospice.vineyard.net.

The concert, which starts at 7:30 pm, is privately funded, and all proceeds from the $20 admission charge are donated directly to the organization.
