Barbara Besse and partner Bea Phear (playing north-south) took first place overall at the Thursday, April 12 Island Bridge Club competition. Nancy Cabot and Ency Fokos (playing east/west) took second place overall. And Foster Greene and his partner Anita Persson (also playing north/south) came in third place.
By “playing direction,” north/south the Besse/Phear team was first, the Greene/Persson team second and less than a percentage point behind, in third place, were partners Sandy and Michael Lindheimer.
Playing east-west, the Cabot/ Fokos team was first, Wally and Susan Epstein came in second and Diana (Dinny) Dozier and partner Joan Perrine took third place.

The ACBL-sanctioned Island Bridge Club duplicate competition is held Thursday evenings at 7pm at the Up-Island Council on Aging Howes House in West Tisbury.
