The West Tisbury Hawks won the Island junior high volleyball championship for the third consecutive year with a 25-14, 25-14, 25-20 win over Edgartown Thursday afternoon at the Oak Bluffs School.
“The team as a whole played great, with solid fundamentals of serving, digging, bumping, and setting,” West Tisbury coach Brian Roesler said.
The Hawks have gone through each championship season unbeaten, a streak of 24 matches. West Tisbury was so dominant this season that they won their eight games in 25 sets. The lone team to take a set off of the mighty Hawks was Edgartown in the second regular-season meeting.
