Guess who has arrived! Elliot Murphy Klein was born April 7 at 10:52 pm to Jennifer and Tim Klein. Grandparents John and Charlotte Klein and Norman and Margaret Rankow couldn’t be more thrilled. Congratulations all around.

North Summer Street was rocking this past weekend, as Sally and Billy Betz traveled up from Darien, Conn., with friends in tow to liven up the Smith household. The party train included Kim and Pete Jung and their children, Stella (age 3) and Henry (6); Colin and Jennifer Seely with children Emma (12), Brian (8), and Cameron (4); and of course Sal and Bill’s own brood, Oliver (5) and Pearlie (2). Highlights of the trip included visiting the animals at the FARM Institute for Sheepapalooza, where the children went on an ox ride; blowing out the candles for little Stella’s third birthday; and handcuffing passers-by to trees and fences. That Oliver definitely has a future in law enforcement. We found a moment for a photo op with Chris Smith’s collection of straw hats, which looked particularly smashing on the menfolk. Until next time!

On Saturday night I ran into Ann Hunt, who is excitedly preparing for her upcoming trip to Madrid. Ann looks forward to visiting castles and, of course, sampling the local cuisine. Olé!

Time to dust off the old Huffy for “Bike To School Day” on May 1 at the Edgartown School, sponsored by Mass in Motion and the Dukes County Health Council. So get your pedal on and go to school the healthy way. Please note that bike helmets are mandatory for this event, so protect that dome.

We have a ton of birthdays this week, and I actually missed a couple last week, so here we go. Belated birthday wishes go out to Jason Dyer, who celebrated April 23, and to Stacy Ickes, who celebrated April 24. I was so excited about Gooch getting the paddle I forgot about you guys. My bad. Upcoming, we have the annual Cavallo birthday extravaganza this weekend, with Coo April 27 and Donna April 28. Also on the 28th, Paulo DeOliveira will blow out the candles. Additional birthday wishes go out to Lark Guerin and Priscilla Bettencourt, April 29; to Brian Ditchfield, Matt Cutter, Shelly O’Neil on April 30; and to Dave Alton, May 1.
