There is a sudden lack of things yellow and black this week, as the school buses are off the road, resting up for next year, and so are our beloved Bruins. What a dramatic playoff season. With all of the overtimes, I started to wonder if hockey would be better off with quarters instead of periods. (My apologies to Kurt Mundt for this sacrilege, but I had to say it.) So be careful out there on the roads, please — there are a lot of wild children and depressed hockey fans roaming around.
I have been reporting on Leah (Phillips) D’Amato’s little ladies, Mallory and Maddy, for quite some time now, and yesterday I finally had the pleasure of meeting this dynamic duo. The two were out making the rounds with their grandmother, Barbara Phillips and were quick to introduce themselves, ask my name, and compliment my outfit. These smiley, friendly, outgoing kids are further evidence that the apples really don’t fall far from the tree.
